Both this film and its underlying Broadway play racked up tons of awards. And with good reason; mid-Century musicals don't get much better than this.
Audrey Hepburn's star shines ever so bright here, as the Cockney gutter urchin turned into the proper London lady by the persnickety Professor Higgins.
She's also the perfect limelight for the top-notch Lerner & Loewe score, which includes "Wouldn't It Be Love-er-ly," "Get Me To The Church On Time," "I've Grown Accustom To Her Face," "I Could Have Danced All Night," and "On The Street Where You Live.".
RECOMMENDATION: If you cook up a short list of mid-Century musicals to view, this one is supposed to be on it.
