I don't understand why people aren't liking this film. Yes I do. People of an older generation are comparing it to a version they've already fallen in love with. The problem with comparing one work to the standard of another is you will never think the new one stands up to par.
This is because the new one is not the old one; if it were, it would be a useless duplication, not a new version. So audiences, particularly the older ones and people who love the original, need to get over it and view this film on its own merit.
On that, it is quite a good film.
