Review of Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953) by Paul W — 08 May 2012
Jaques Tati presents a satire of the middle-class holiday in this charming almost silent comedy. There's a precision to Tatis movements that make him incredibly watchable, but I have to confess I didn't laugh particularly hard.
Theres plenty to enjoy in the photography and satire, even if the humour is of le titter gentle and not le laugh de belly variety.
