Review of Mommie Dearest (1981) by Tessa R — 26 Sep 2007
The first movie my mother ever took me to, as an infant. She had to leave the theatre, embarrassed because I laughed at all the scenes where Joan beats her kids. "no more wire hangers"- why? Because young Joan worked in a laundrey in the victorian era as a child when she was impoverished and had to spend her days hanging clothes on wire hangers.
that's why she grew to beat her kids with them. True story.
