Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Josh C — 16 Apr 2016
This is a movie without endless exposition , meta quips or overwhelming CGI. What it has is tense acting with the exception of Adam Driver who, if not completely mis-cast, is not on par with the rest of the terrific cast led by the ALWAYS brilliant Michael Shannon.
The urgency of the plot is supported by one of the best scores in recent memory and the (somewhat) ambiguous ending will speak to those viewers who appreciate not being spoon-fed all the answers. To my mind, quite simply a brilliant sci-fi thriller!
