What a beautiful, fascinating, haunting, and odd movie this turned out to be. This is a big budget idea done as a small picture with fantastic performances from Shannon, Edgerton, Driver, and Dunst. The real star here is Jaedan Lieberher who plays young Alton perfectly.
This is a movie with its own personality that would have been lost in the hands of a lesser director.
