Probably Maya Deren's most well known work, Meshes is one of those poetic, surreal films that came out of the early American Avant-garde and continues to inspire aspiring avant-garde filmmakers, as well as their mainstream counterparts.
In many ways, Meshes can be seen as a major influence on the works of David Lynch, Mulholland Drive in particular.
