Review of Meshes of the Afternoon (1943) by Brad S — 17 Oct 2016
This short is an experimental and avante-garde film from 1943 and directed by Maya Deren. It reminded me very much of David Lynch and I can't help but think he was inspired by it, along with many music video directors.
It features some really cool imagery and visual effects that also calls to mind the films of Jean Cocteau from the same time period. Won't be for every, but I liked it and helped that it was only 14mins long.
