Review of Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus (2009) by Steve C — 11 Aug 2009
Usually films that TRY and be so bad that they become good fail and stick at bad. This works. Anyone who knows about Asylum films knows the quality- from titles alone (Transforminators, Aliens vs Hunters)! Really cheap CGI, cut in with stock library footage and studio sets lit so badly as to give away the cardboard props! All served up with copious layers of cheesey acting, lame script lines, preposterous scenes (sharky takes out a flying 747 and octopus drags an oil rig down! Let's not forget lots of shots of scientists 'working stuff out' so they mix lots of bubbling coloured liquids for no reason whatsoever) and Debbie ' Electric Youth' Gibson too.
Makes a cracking after the pub laugh. A film you can be proud to have seen, but just the once!
