Fascinating, unforgettable and original character western that comes apart at the seams a little due to a sloppy opening and dodgy bit of accent work from Julie Christie. Where it scores is the scope of the canvas and the typical brush strokes from Altman.
It stays stuck in the mind for a long time after.
