Review of McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) by Scott J — 23 Feb 2016
This film is a tale well told, and yet perhaps not much beyond that. The story brings to life the rawness of life in the American West, and wants to subvert the honour themes often found in Westerns. But it doesn't pull off a coherent and cohesive vision, and watching it try to is unpleasant.
