Review of McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) by Garrett C — 16 Feb 2016
I just don't seem to get this one. This is has got all of the worst elements of the 60's-70's "revisionist" Westerns that are grotesquely dated at this point, and the story doesn't escape cliches as much as Altman thinks it does.
Still, much of the photography is gorgeous and the distinctive hue of the movie has a dreamlike haze coated over it that I like. If only they had a more interesting story, characters, and actors to play them!
