Review of Marwencol (2010) by David B — 11 Jun 2012
He gained a lot of freedom and creativity - but the kind of person he was before the accident still shines through, for me. He has created a veritable inkblot through which we can know him, intimately - & I read into it that I wouldn't have liked him before the accident, & that if he fully recovered, I wouldn't like him, again.
Harsh, but that's not the only thing that made this film anticlimactic & as rigid as a toy soldier, for me.
