Review of Martin (1978) by Steve S — 11 Feb 2008
A completely profound and unique early Romero film, it really achieves on so many levels. I can't really find much to complain about here, everything seemed to work out just fine, though I wonder how his original nearly-3-hour cut would have turned out.
Really stuck with me and is a newly discovered favorite of mine. The only complaint is that it really does feel like it was cut short. Its odd that Romero's films are really the only ones that I end up feeling this way about.
He's the only director I know that engages me that much to want more out of an already-long movie.
