Review of Maniac Cop (1988) by Shawn-Ray M — 27 Oct 2010

I remember when I was a kid how much I enjoyed this series but revisiting it today I find that it's incredibly bad. At its core, Maniac Cop is a slasher film trying to pass itself off as a psychological thriller.

I used to find enjoyment in this movie but aside from Bruce Campbell as our hero... kind of... and the inclusion of Tom Atkins and Richard Roundtree there wasn't a lot to really work with here. Though, especially in today's society, I feel a remake could fix all the problems with this movie (of which there are many).

Hell, you could even throw Campbell back in it as the mayor this time... just saying...
