Shakespeare's oft-adapted tragedy comes to the screen once again with Michael Fassbender succeeding to the throne of Scotland only to embark on a murderous rampage to keep his crown. Director Justin Kurzel's dream-like production slices through the text to reel off a pacy, powerful take on the Bard's nightmarish drama whilst Fassbender delivers an imposing turn as the heroic soldier turned demonic despot.
