Review of M (1931) by Denise C — 03 Jul 2008
What makes this Fritz Lang film amazing that it was created two years before Hitler came to power. The film deals with various levels of criminality, crime and punishment, and morality. The point of view is surprisingly progressive considering the country was about to be overtaken by an immoral and criminal regime.
This film is an early adopter of sound to great, haunting effect and its cinematography is top notch.
As a big fan of the Wiemar genre, this certainly tops my list up there with Bliue Angel.
