Review of M (1931) by Ryan M — 15 Jul 2008
Fritz Lang's first 'talkie', a sinister tale of a child murderer so elusive it takes the combined efforts of the police, 'legit' criminals, and beggars to bring him to justice, is exemplary of the term 'timeless'.
Watching the film it's hard to imagine it was made in 1931 when everything about it, from the script to the music cues to Lang's direction, feels so surprisingly fresh.
