Review of M (1931) by Zoi K — 09 Jan 2016
A city looks for a child murderer in a ramshackled post-WWI German city in this unaged masterpiece by Fritz Lang. Lang focuses his lens on the empty, seemingly peaceful places, where a relentless witch-hunting takes place.
A society, failed by the state, looks endlessly for a perpetrator, to judge and condemn in their own terms. A movie from the distant Weimar Republic, that foresaw the events that turned a whole nation into "blood-hunters".
