Review of M (1931) by David V — 17 Mar 2009
The first half of this movie is a giant snorefest, just people sitting around and talking, but then it picks up rather nicely. The infamous "trial" scene in the basement makes you feel a great pity for the killer and his schizophrenia, even though I think Lorre's acting in this scene was terrible and way too over-exaggerated.
Still, a very good, thought-provoking film, made only two years before the Nazis came to power.
