Review of London to Brighton (2006) by David H — 13 Oct 2007
There's certainly much to admire about it but somehow it doesn't quite turn out to be triumph it could be. The subject matter is gritty and dark in nature yet only occasionally does the film try to dig a little deeper and provide real incite.
The characters seem slightly stereotypical and lack any real depth, with the possible exception being Kelly. The script is slightly clunky and rough around the edges and it fails to provide the levels of beauty of a Shane Meadows film.
That said, it is an admirable effort clearly on a tight budget and definately worth a watch.
