Review of Lolita (1962) by Tony D — 11 Feb 2008
Kubrick's adaptation of Nabakov's famous novel is uneven, but not without its noteworthy points. It's especially excellent in its first hour, when Humbert faces off against Lolita's overbearing mother, but the pace slackens later on and we are treated to a number of frankly unfunny Peter Sellers appearances.
As a film it's unsure of itself.
