All in all it's a good sci-fi movie. I don't know if it's influential, but the story it's quite epic even if a bit cheesy. Good ideas here and there and the typical dystopian plot. The effects make the whole movie a bit outdated and funny, and the Adam and Eve archetype too.
..it gets a bit boring in the second half.
