Review of Life of Pi (2012) by Adrianna S — 05 May 2015
This movie was amazing, the part with the whale jumping over Pi's boat was amazing, it's a once in a lifetime chance. The special effects with all the animals, and the island how the pools became acidic and dissolved the fish was really cool because something so beautiful can become so harmful. When the boat sinks and he gets knocked of the lifeboat, when he is the water and watching the boat sinking is astonishing because again another once in a lifetime chance. You can never really understand what he been through until you were put in that situation, many people would not believe you.
Apart from all the positive of this move, there are also some flaws. I feel like I'm watching a Man vs. Wild episode, rather than a story trying to make me believe in the "Almighty God". This boy transform from a Hindu, to a Christian, then turns to Allah. Then at the end he believe in all. (Ten Commandments says, 'Thou shall not have any other God before me') So, why does he say he is a "Christian" if he goes against the Ten Commandments?
Overall the movie was amazing. The special effects, the animals, that part with the sky reflecting off of the ocean was beautiful. My favorite part of the movie is when he calls Richard Parker back to and he actually comes back. Like it was a natural instinct to get off the island. The movie was astonishing, and I would give it like a 8 out of 10 because of its flaws, but I would definitely recommend this movie to other people.
