Review of Life of Pi (2012) by Alain Q — 23 Oct 2018
If you have not yet seen Life of Pi, but you are planning to, try to see it in a good 3D home theater for your initial viewing. It is an absolute must, as the technology used to create this film (including its immersive 7.1 HD audio track) beautifully intertwines with the story and its presentation.
Watching this film is like looking at a painting in an art gallery...it is a completely allegorical experience. As such, there is no collective "message" to take away from this film. Each viewer is left to decide for themselves how they wish to interpret it. Of course, this is what "truth" in life is all about...how each of us brings their own unique experiences and beliefs into every situation, correct? That's the best I can explain this cinematic masterpiece.
When superior technology skills meets superior story telling, you have Life of Pi.
