Review of Letter from an Unknown Woman (1948) by Stephen M — 17 Apr 2009
Letter From an Unknown Woman is a searingly, powerfully moving Melodrama which is quite frankly as good as films get. Beautifully acted by Joan Fontaine and directed with impeccable style and masterful precision by Max Ophuls, this 1948 Classic is one of a handful of films I would genuinely class as being completely flawless.
A crushingly sad, achingly beautiful film, this will always remain one of my Top 10 films. If you haven't seen it then your life will be poorer for it.
