Review of Les Misérables (1998) by Julie N — 21 Sep 2009
It will be just impossible to perfectly adapt Victor Hugo's masterpiece ; The novel is way too long and goes into very deep details, that does alter the story and your passion for the caracters.
But here's nonetheless a well-structured film that underlines the key points in this wonderful tale, following a man's struggle for a normal life, stolen from him so long ago.
The all-star cast was shining throughout the entire movie. Thumbs up.
The tons of bad reviews I've read from the most important reviewers wouldn't keep me from giving this rating. Respect.
