Review of Leave No Trace (2018) by Sonia P — 18 Feb 2018
My personal favorite film from Sundance. In this sort of "coming of age" story I thought the acting by Thomasin McKenzie was top notch, and being from Portland myself I really enjoyed the familiar locations shown in this film.
There wasn't much dialogue in this movie, and I can see that turning a lot of people off because it can be seen as a slow film, but I didn't mind that. There were a lot of metaphors and connections shown visually between the two main characters and the animals they were near which I really enjoyed, and I felt that this film did a great job of showing the story rather than just telling it.
