Review of Leave No Trace (2018) by Trailesque — 01 Jul 2021
A low key, affecting story about a man and his teenage daughter who live in a handmade encampment in the wilderness. Things seem quite nice for them, but society inevitably intrudes and hauls them back to civilization.
The kid adjusts well to the changes, but the man appears unable to. I would have appreciated a little more information about the man and how things got to be this way for the two of them - there are hints, but we are left to speculate.
Thomasin McKenzie is just right as the girl. This is a well put-together, believable drama, and I wish there were more American movies like it.
