"Leave No Trace" works well because of interesting characters and a unique premise. The movie has some morally complex points that it makes and I found them to be interesting. The movie is pretty slow-paced, particularly in its second half, but I think it always kept my interest even when it felt particularly uneventful.
The best part about the story even when it is very slow is that it feels pretty realistic. This is primarily due to the performances. Both Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie deliver good performances as the two lead characters.
It's a unique drama that is somewhat thought provoking and worth watching one time.
