Review of Leatherheads (2008) by Joseph E — 29 Aug 2010
Review #301 Sports-Action Comedy B-.
Now I seen it all! This film is both idiocticly funny, and wittingly charming. For what is was, I believe George Clooney did a damn fine job as the director. It was Clooney the actor was in need of a change.
This film was really a gamechanger for me. it was pretty original and it got me intuned. it wasn't really anything special, but it wasn't a predictable laughfest, although it is orignal, it's the plot, not story that could've used a fresh start.
"While Leatherheads has a good gameplan, it's faulty start is what utterly leads to it's demise. Even with Clooney's fine direction, and Zellweggar's suprising charm. This is one film that while it seems really like a change of pace, it also seems like a weaker, dumbdowned rehash of 'The Longest Yard'".
True Rating: WGP For Weak Game Plan.
