Review of Last Life in the Universe (2003) by Reynald C — 26 Jun 2007
I read the original book by Prabda Yun and it was good. It has that New Wave kind of feeling (poetic, existentialistic, mellow). The film did translate well from the book, especially the mundane shots of characters doing daily routines like washing dishes and spacing out.
I wasn't so excited about the cinematography; I do like the mellow melancholia tone but I wouldn't mind it to be more polished. Not a bad film, just not memorable enough.
