Review of Lake of Fire (2006) by Gerry R — 02 Sep 2008
A good doc but I have to disagree that this is an even-handed look at the two sides of the abortion debate. The pro-choice people in it are invariably reasonable and calm while the anti-abortionists are generally either rabidly angry or ice-cool psychopaths, and much of the film is devoted to the murderings and bombings these nutjobs have done.
In fact, as per the title, that's really what this film is about - a kind of warning that there are forces out there working hard and gaining ground in the effort to overturn the abortion law. I liked it, but mainly because it showed me what I need to be reminded of more often: that large number of very ignorant people that make up a huge segment of the U.
S. population and explain how Bush got elected, twice.
