Review of La Strada (1954) by Minkyu L — 17 Jan 2008
Much of the time period it was made seemed to come in factor with the storyline of the film, but nevertheless a compelling film. The main character Gelsomina was charming and definitely drove the film.
One thing confusing to me was what the 'Fool's character was trying to convey to Gelsomina and if that was the ultimate message of the film, or if the film's message was the exact opposite and depicted that through the tragic outcome.
I would like to think the latter but the film's exposition of that moment seems to tell me otherwise. Pretty engaging performances.
