Review of La Strada (1954) by Pavandeep S — 05 Nov 2008
Watching this, I was amazed at how painful this film was, it tore me up badly. I don't know, maybe I felt more anguish than normal, but this film has that uncanny tack of using blunt minimalism and bringing out in full swing a magic and sense of despair at the same time.
I had to constantly look away at time, especially the character of Giuletta Masino, who in a theatrical fashion brought out a portrayal full of fledging catharsis.
