Yeah, its fun and pretentious to love Fellini films, but there's a reason he's so beloved by snobs! Every frame is rife with symbolism that plays with themes of true ugliness and beauty like so many seals with a beach ball :P The episodic plot results in a feeling more akin to an actual experience rather than passively watching some blundering 3-act narrative that only attempts to represent human drama.

â??La Dolce Vitaâ?? invites you to meet the deepest shallow people on Earth! You will bear witness to beautiful people exchanging beautiful words amidst the beautiful backdrop of Rome. But theyâ??re dead inside.

Theyâ??re dead. Dead as the washed-up fish in the filmâ??s climax. Love it. I find myself to relating to the character of Steiner more and more with every viewing.
