Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Noémi B — 23 Jun 2009
I don't think I fully understand it but I love this movie. There isn't much to it, but it is one of the most interesting films I have ever seen. I basically just follows around Marcello, who is a man everyone in town knows, a gossip columnist.
It chronicle's 7 days in his life in which he experiences a many number of things, while trying to find himself. Marcello definately is now on of my favorite movie characters of all time, just something about his persona really interests me.
He seems to do whatever he wants, drifting from his work, to various parties, to romancing every beautiful woman in his sights. He just seems like an all around cool guy. While the film is practically 3 hours I never felt it drag or get dull.
Every minute of this guy's life seems to be teeming with something interesting! Makes me kinda wish I was like him! haha.
