Review of Krull (1983) by Anthony B — 26 Dec 2009
A big budget English science fiction fantasy film that is fun to watch. The special effects and the time spent on the film are some of the main points I thought about while watching the picture. I had no idea the budget was as big until I started to see the complex sets and it definitely was an ambitious picture.
the bad guys used ranged attacks and lasers while the good guys used swords and axes. The cyclops guy would throw his spear. The glade is pretty cool but it is rarely used and then the main character has a flame thrower arm.
The main actor seems to have no other big pictures before this film so it is surprising that they did not try to get a big name star and that is probably one of the main reasons people have never heard of it.
I just got the movie because it was recommended by Netflix. It is a pleasant surprise though and I did enjoy its fantasy elements. Overall, if you are looking for a big budget film that may not be widely known as some other it is fun to check this out.
