Review of Krepkiy Oreshek (1968) by Renzo V — 26 Jan 2014
Good, for an action movie. Was excellent for the first 50-60 minutes but then overstayed its welcome and seems to go on just for the sake of it.
Solid enough plot, though, as I mentioned, drifts towards the end. Direction is good, with the prerequisite number of explosions and blood for an action movie.
Acting-wise, this is the movie that made Bruce Willis' career. Cool, mean, bad-guy-killing, wise-cracking, he does everything required of an action leading actor. Alan Rickman does waht he does best - the evil-personified bad guy. Good supporting cast, esp Reginald VelJohnson as Sgt Powell.
