Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Richard L — 29 Aug 2016
It gets two stars because I loved the cgi. However, it still sucks. There was a potentially interesting story, which would've been cool if the writers would've actually taken the time to develop it.
Rather, it reminded me of doing group projects back in grade school - you do awesome work and the slackers don't. I equate myself with the cgi developers, and the story writers with those slackers.
The work they did though was so horrendous that I literally feel dumber for having watched this. Some fans try to defend this by saying that the critics have no idea what final fantasy is about, but if this represents that, then I have to say that fans must be really ignorant of what good story telling is.
That's sad because I used to love playing these games. Were they all this bad? Was there no solid story to them whatsoever? Did squaresoft do a great disservice to their fans?
