Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Clem666 — 14 Dec 2020
Simply an amazing prowess. The visuals and scenes are majestic. The facial acting is really surprising and close to reality. Motion capture at its best. Choreographies and special effects are particularly superb. There is only few scenes in which the characters' bodies appear to have some inhuman angles and curbs but you have to look at it rally close.
The story is original and catchy, the scenario is cool yet complex. It is not far from to the Final Fantasy universes, but maybe too close. As we expected it is all about two kingdoms in a fight, a princess to save, an intriguing artifact and badass warriors with some magic powers. In its originality then the movie is classic. You just have to get used to the Final Fantasy lore.
The pace of 'Kingsglaive' is kind of weird. When a character dies we barely have the time to figure it out that the action is already on its way. Scenario triggers seem to appear suddenly and often in the middle of a fight. This gives the movie a strange continuity and the feeling of being interrupted in the middle of something is often here. Unfortunately lacks of some romance quest.
