Review of Justice League vs. Teen Titans (2016) by Brandon S — 10 May 2017
In and of itself, this is a quality production of the DCU and Teen Titans. Mind you, I find myself intrigued by the "transformation sequence" mid-movie--you'll know what I mean when you see it--but it was WAAAY too Cutie Honey, replaced with Starfire, for me to really appreciate it.
On the other hand, I will always draw issue with the portrayal of Wonder Woman as a misandristic sexist. As a feminist icon, I think she's great. In fact, it makes it even worse a crime to turn her into a bigot as poorly characterized as the "male chauvinistic pigs" she was partially made to combat.
It's as unthinkable and insulting as the villains she fights. DC needs to get past this prejudicial attitude: it isn't fitting for a hero or heroine. Wonder Woman is no anti-hero and shouldn't be treated as such.
Also, I know that in order to resemble the New 52 well, the inclusion of the relationship between Damian and Raven was inevitable, but I still look with fond memories on the good old days when BB and Raven were a couple.
I don't care how similar Raven and Damian are, it just doesn't feel right. It never has. And it never will.
