Review of Justice League: Gods and Monsters (2015) by Neil P — 28 Dec 2015
This is a great little animated film that regular blockbusters could learn from. The team is established through three short flashbacks as a nastier uncompromising version of DC's holier than thou trinity.
What maybe appeared initially as a "these are worse heroes" fable evolved into a nice murder mystery (with nods to Watchmen) where it turns out the heroes are actually heroes still. There are some great action scenes and a fairly mature approach considering the language and violence.
This is all achieved in just over an hour while a live-action film would probably need two 2.5 hour films to cover the same ground.
