Review of John Carter (2012) by Robert W — 12 May 2013

Went to see John Carter today, and I must say, after reading the previous reviews I was a bit leery of spending $13.50 to see a movie that had a 50/50 rating. Well let me say this, Idiots, morons, and hamsters! Anyone who pans this movie, falls into one of the afore mentioned categories, period. I am pushing 50 and have seen the best the world has to offer in the way of Sci-Fi fantasy films released in theaters in the past 40 years and this happens to be one of the most enjoyable. Anyone who complains about the dialog, storyline, acting, etc. is somebody just looking for something to complain about and has a dull boring life and is searching for some way to make others as miserable as they are. I found the film fun, easy to follow, with interesting characters that I didn't have to be a psychology major to try and figure them out, and to top it off the 3-D special effects were awesome! So I would say to all the naysayers of this film, find something more creative to do with your life, seriously.

You have no business being a movie critic, you failed miserably as one. If you want to spend an afternoon being entertained by a movie that is the first of a forthcoming series of Sci-Fi fantasy films from the creator of Tarzan, and probably one of the truly first fantasy writers, Edgar Rice Burroughs, rhis is your ticket. I won't spoil the ending for you all, but let me say it is well done and is quite unique in its' application. You will enjoy it. This isn't LOTR or Star Wars, but it will have its' place in this genre. Spend the bucks for this one in 3-D it's worth it!!! I can't wait for the DVD directors cut or extended version on DVD+BluRay combo pack, I assure you I will be one of the first to own it, so I can watch this over and over again!! Hoping you ignore the bad ratings and go see it, I give it full thumbs up! Don't wait for this one to come out on DVD, go see it in the theater, you will be glad you did!!! Enjoy!!!!
