Review of Jindabyne (2006) by Lisa J — 21 Dec 2008
This movie pissed me off. It had so much potential, solid cast, and solid acting. The story to me was just dumb. How about 2 of the guys fishing go back to town to alert authorities about the body and then come back after? I just never bought into the whole 4 adults who would rather be fishing than report a dead body to the police. I also never bought into the lurking potential serial killer that is left totally unresolved at the end. I can't give recommend this movie as it dragged on way too long and was painful at times to watch. Oh yeah, the disturbing friendship of the two children never went anywhere as well.
Having said all of that, I am convinced Laura Linney is one of the best talents of our generation. I have never seen less than 120% from her in any role.
