Review of It Happened One Night (1958) by Jack C — 04 Apr 2012
One fast moving film. If ya blink, you'll miss what's up. Anyway. Claudette Colbert plays an heiress who doesn't want to get married and hits the road. Along the way, she gets up with Clark Gable, who's a reporter about to get her number if she would just keep still.
One of the most dated things about this movie is when they go to the hotel or rest stops and they put a sheet between them for privacy and the fact they weren't married. The ending will make you smile though.
One of sure sleepers of 1934 that ended up with Oscars. Another part is when Colbert lets up a smidgen of her dress to hitch a ride. Oooh wee. those days are surely gone.
