Review of Isle of Dogs (2018) by Bob K — 12 Apr 2018
This movie is everywhere now, but it's been out for a few weeks. RT embargoed audience reviews until today, maybe because many people feel like me - bored to death. I literally fell asleep during this, for quite a while.
The so-hip doggy dialogue, delivered completely flat, loses its ability to entertain 10 minutes in. I don't want to hear a flat Bill Murray or Jeff Goldblum - these are inherently entertaining people, and Wes Anderson again delights in steamrolling them all into sameness.
Greta Gerwig's character gets to yell at everyone, but that's all I remember.
