Review of Inherit the Wind (1960) by Marrteen B — 12 Aug 2007
American Cinema classic - perhaps a bit outdated both stylistically and thematically for contemporary viewers. The film presents the issue of science vs religion in a preachy black and white (pardon the pun) manner which fails to accurately represent the actual historical events, on which the film is based.
Some great performances and writing from the filmmakers; the kind of project that has "Oscar" written all over it - though I am not sure whether that is a good thing or not.
