Review of Infernal Affairs (2002) by W X — 28 Jan 2010
The Departed is great, but this is a masterpiece. The films pulses with a tragic intesity you'd never expect to find in a thriller. Original (original!) plot, superb acting, and cinematography that's nothing short of alluring. Good vs bad? No such thing in this film, and even the fine line in between is blurred to the naked eye.
For those who are hesitating on IA because of the supposed lack of character development in comparison, please note that it -is- a series. The followups of IA2 and IA3 need to be considered before hasty judgments can be made.
