Sad and metaphorical, in a drastically different french-canadian way than the more recent Life of Pi. This movie sinks deep into the troubled skein called history/heritage/vengeance and manages to shock desensitized masses (moi) into reconsidering values & standpoints beyond the political and weighing the (generations of) lives affected instead.
